This beautiful evening service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

The service will feature musical selections by members of the fire service and survivors of fallen firefighters in tribute to the fallen fire heroes being honored this year. Fire service escorts will help families light commemorative candles for their fallen firefighters. Families of firefighters being honored will create special luminaria used in this service.

As part of the ceremony, returning survivors will share the light from the Remembrance Candle, a symbol of the hope and enduring friendship shared by all who have lost a firefighter.

This service is open to families and departments of the firefighters being honored at the 2009 Memorial Weekend, as well as returning survivors of firefighters honored in previous years.
