The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation invites your Honor Guard Unit or Pipe Band to register to participate during the 33rd Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on October 10- 12, 2014, in Emmitsburg, Maryland. On this special weekend, a grateful nation will honor the brave men and women who died in the line of duty during 2013 and those who died in previous years and were reported to the Foundation in 2013.

On-campus housing requests will be acted upon with priority being given to those departments having a fallen firefighter being honored in 2014. Departments who do not have a firefighter being honored are responsible for making their off-campus lodging arrangements and paying all associated expenses.

Part of the pre-registration process is submission of a letter from your agency, on the agency's letterhead and signed by an authorized official, identifying that the member(s) of the honor guard or pipe & drum band has had a criminal history check conducted and was successfully completed . The content must specify "criminal" background check. All letters must then be emailed to Jeanne Tobia or mailed to her attention at National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, 2130 Priest Bridge Drive, Suite 6, Crofton, MD 21114. All letters must be received no later than September 5, 2014.
