Dave Statter is a communications consultant with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Dave has been involved with NFFF since 1996 when he began hosting the Memorial Weekend telecasts. Dave’s wife Hillary Howard of WTOP Radio has shared the hosting duties since 1999. Starting in 2010 Dave also became the executive producer of the telecasts and took over supervision of the Memorial Weekend Media/Content group.
Dave spent almost 40 years in the broadcasting industry. For 25 years Dave was an Emmy winning reporter at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C., covering the top news stories in and around the Nation’s Capital.
In addition to his NFFF duties Dave runs STATter911 Communication, LLC in Falls Church, Virginia specializing in reputation management and helping public safety agencies and other organizations tell their story in a digital world of instant communications.
In his youth, Dave was a volunteer firefighter, fire department dispatcher and cardiac rescue technician in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
