On Wednesday, April 19, leaders of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus presented 144 American flags flown over the US Capitol to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. These flags represent each of the firefighters on the 2023 Roll of Honor, which includes 79 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2022 and 65 who died in previous years.
As dusk turns to dark during the first week of May, iconic buildings, landmarks, homes and fire departments across the country will glow in respect to the fallen and their families for Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters. This nationwide lighting, sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), leads up to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on May 6-7, 2023.
You can be part of a national tradition to honor the memories of firefighters who died in the line of duty and show your support for their families. Join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) in Bells Across America for Fallen Firefighters.
During the 2023 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, we will remember 79 firefighters who died in 2022 and 65 who died in previous years.
