On May 7, 1934, two Paterson firemen – John O’Neill of Engine 9 and Allen Saal of Truck 3 – were fatally injured when a wall collapsed the St. Bonaventure Lyceum at Carlisle Avenue and Ramsey Street. The fire at Box 413 went to three alarms. Several others were injured.
