Charles Franklin ‘Chuck’ Key

Charles Franklin ‘Chuck’ Key‚ 59‚ a contract pilot with the US Forest Service‚ died when his air tanker crashed while applying retardant to a fire in the Gila National Forest near Reserve‚ New Mexico on June 27‚ 1998. A second pilot also died in the crash. Key began his aviation career in the Air Force where he served for 21 years. He had also worked as a flight instructor and private pilot.
