As a born and raised upstate New Yorker, I was honored to walk the stairs at Red Rocks Amphitheater today in honor of David Weiss. It is clear from his bio that David was among the best of the best. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

– Matt DotySeptember 1, 2022, the 21st 911 Memorial ceremony in Aspen, Colorado today, put on by our heroes at the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department. Each year the Aspen Fire Dept. has a red rose for each fallen 911 firefighter, each rose with a photo and name. I happened to get the rose for David M. Weiss. I hope his family knows that 21 years later, 2,500 miles from Manhattan, David’s name is said out loud and his service and sacrifice honored. As a now-retired 30-year first responder myself (deputy sheriff), I am humbled by and grateful for David’s commitment to service.
