On June 28, 1969, Firefighter Edward Palenchak of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company #3, died during an explosion at a construction shed fire. Also killed in the explosion was Firefighter Vincent Mezevich. Mr. Palenchak was survived by his wife, Eleanor, two daughters and one son.
FF Palenchak: Rest in Peace. You have never been Forgotten. You are officially remembered for your dedication and ultimate sacrifice. You are a hero. I appreciate your service.
