Joe W. Novosad‚ Sr.‚ 57‚ a volunteer firefighter for 15 years with the Porter Volunteer Fire Department died of a heart attack while responding to an emergency call on April 30‚ 1995. A Navy veteran‚ he owned a local electronics company.
