During the 2017 911 Memorial Ride in Knoxville TN, they had small cards with the names of fallen firefighters for anyone that rode so we could carry them with us.. Further they ask that we keep them with our Bike for year if we were willing. Robert J. Crawford has been with my Bike all this time. I have been to this site a few times over the years, wanting to say something but never found the words. One day, I plan to mail the card I have to his Station. It has been an honor riding with you.

– Kim BotkinGood afternoon. I was in New York this weekend for the anniversary of this tragic day. After visiting the reflecting pools, we walked over to #10 house. I was already overcome with grief. I walked along the side of the house…. full of flags, flowers and photos… another level of sadness. I came across a photo of this firefighter…. I gasped! My mother, who passed in ‘93, was a dime collector, and since her death she sends me dimes …. always in the most random places. There on his picture, lay a dime. Tears again. I was hoping that on my trip I would “hear” from her. I am so so happy that this was the place. Maybe she knows that he is with God and he is ok! I came home and looked up his photo in the program from St Patrick’s Cathedral. Firefighter Robert J. Crawford. Thank you for your service…… We honor you. Godspeed! Thanks Mom! I love you!
– Joyce WildI was proud to climb at FDIC 2022 in your honor, sir.
– Neil FerrellRest easy brother.
My son named Robert James read aloud the name of Robert James Crawford today at a 9/11 memorial ceremony in Santa Barbara, CA. All victims are being commemorated and remembered today, by those who weren’t even born then. We are grateful for his service and legacy, which lives on decades later.
