Memorial Weekend

Brick Search

A grateful Nation honors its fallen fire service heroes at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial located on the campus of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Work is underway to expand the monument site to create the first permanent National Memorial Park honoring America’s fire service. A brick Walk of Honor winds through the Park, linking the national monument to the historic Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel.

You can help make this park a reality by sponsoring bricks on the Walk of Honor®.

Thousands of inscribed bricks bear names of individuals, departments and organizations. Others contain short messages chosen by their sponsors.

Several fire departments and organizations have donated sections to honor their members or remember fallen firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. A special FDNY section will honor all its fallen heroes, including those who died on September 11, 2001.

Visitors to the park should allow several hours to view all of the moving messages and tributes on the Walk of Honor®.

Project Roll Call Update

Project Roll Call is a special section in the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park’s Walk of Honor® that will honor every firefighter who died in the line of duty prior to 1981. This project contains more than 10,000 bricks that will be placed together in the Walk of Honor® next year. If you donated a brick for a fallen firefighter to be included in this special section, please check back here for updates in 2020. Once all of these bricks have been placed, we will update the website with their locations. Thanks to your support, in 2020, we will have a permanent place to honor and remember these fallen heroes!

If you are unable to find your brick and it was ordered prior to 2018 or is not part of Project Roll Call, please contact Donna Clark at (301) 447-7913 or bricks@firehero.org.
