Do you know that home fires are the #1 disaster threat in the United States? Every 85 seconds a home fire is reported in the United States and they kill more Americans each year than hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes combined. Fortunately, many of these fires can be prevented.

We want to invite young people who have great ideas about how to make homes fire safe for residents and firefighters to join the Paradigm Challenge.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is proud to support the first Paradigm Challenge, a competition for 7 to 18 year-olds that generates new ideas to prevent injuries and fatalities from home fires. Participants are encouraged to use science, technology, engineering, math, kindness, creativity, and collaboration to help save lives.

The Challenge is sponsored by Project Paradigm (a private foundation), The American Red Cross and other fire, youth and educational organizations to inspire today’s students to make a positive change in the world.

Project Paradigm will offer more than $250,000 in cash prizes and grants to the top 100 teams to inspire youth to work collaboratively to address the home fires problem.
