Despite losing her father at the age of 7, Gabrielle feels that her father has shaped her life in many ways through the stories from her seven older siblings and her own few memories of him. She has selected accounting as her field of study, and she hopes to work for a private accounting firm upon graduation.
Outside of school, she has worked two jobs, volunteers in her community and is active in church. Gabrielle feels that playing softball, along with qualities demonstrated by her father, has helped her to learn how to work hard, to do her best, doing all that she can for her family while still maintaining her character.
Fire Chief Elizabeth Snow says, “Gabrielle displays a work ethic, integrity, and honesty like her father before her. She continues to be successful academically, athletically, and spiritually. Gabrielle is continuing to excel in the community by volunteering as a mentor to the youth in the community and the Wichita Fire Department is proud of Gabrielle’s accomplishments.”
