Halley Fritz

Halley is currently a freshman at Thiel College where she is majoring in Biology. Upon graduation, her plan is to attend dental school. Halley’s eventual career goal is to become an Orthodontist.

Outside of her academic activities, she participates in AmeriCorps CRUSH, Hiram branch where she plans service projects and community events. Halley is also active with Crestwood School study session, Blankets for Project Linus, and Letters for her Elders. She works part time at Target and spends most of her free time assisting her mother with caring for her sister with special needs and two other siblings since her father’s death.

Chemistry Professor Knettle writes, “I met Halley through her enrollment in my CHEM 120 and CHEM 121 courses. I have been very impressed with her throughout her freshman year where she has ranked in the top 20% of both courses. While she is somewhat quiet in class, Halley consistently steps up to lead a discussion or conversation. She engages her peers well and collectively drives the class forward.”

Halley’s previous scholarship was made possible with support from
Motorola Solutions Foundation.
