John is a sophomore at Marist College studying business with a minor in accounting and is considering graduate school after obtaining his bachelor’s degree. He feels that his educational and career goals are intertwined and that obtaining his education with little to no debt and finding the ideal career will lead to satisfaction and success.
He has joined the Marist College business club, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and the campus ministry. With the campus ministry, he performs community volunteer work. John also has volunteered as an assistant religious education teacher at his church and helped prepare 7th grade students who are preparing to make the sacrament of confirmation. He finds volunteer work to be very fulfilling.
John is said to be extremely mature, hardworking, dedicated, intellectually curious and enthusiastic in all that he does. Lieutenant Gill Montalvo says, “Johnny exemplifies excellent character and is extremely kind and thoughtful. He always strives to do his best and has a fantastic work ethic which makes him an honorable representative of the NFFF Sarbanes scholarship program.”
