Kensley has become more determined to forge a career path since her father’s passing. She knows this would honor him and his example he set for her. Kensley shares that it was her father’s dream for all his children to obtain a postsecondary degree that would allow them to pursue their career dreams. She plans to obtain her degree and work as an ultrasound technician. She works full-time while attending school and knows that scholarships will lessen the financial burden on her family.
Kensley has not had the opportunity to volunteer in her community due to being a full-time student and working full-time to contribute toward her family’s living expenses. She is hopeful to find time to volunteer in her community after she graduates as a way to pay it forward.
Kensley’s high school counselor states, “I have seen her flourish academically and in her extracurricular activities. Kensley is a positive role model to her peers, works hard in all that she does and has maintained good grades while working a full-time job.”
