Madison (Maddy) Manger attending St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul Minnesota. She shares that she has maintained all A’s throughout her high school career while taking college courses and throughout her first semester of college.
She was admitted to the Honors Program upon entering college. Maddy shares she plans to get her bachelor’s in biochemistry, and then going on to medical school. Her goal is to become a doctor because this profession hits home with her because my mom lost her fight to cancer in May of 2017 and my dad lost his life in a line of duty death just five months later.
Outside of her daily studies, she is on the St. Catherine’s University basketball team. Maddy loves to volunteer in her free time; every week she finds herself at the local food shelf to help restock the shelves and unload new boxes of food and supplies. She loves to find random opportunities on campus to volunteer whether it involves building dressers for low-income households, showing basketball recruits around campus, or making birthday cards for sick children in the hospital.
Says English Teacher Nicole Wagner, “Madison, or Maddy, is a strong student and role model in the classroom, in the community and on the basketball court. She exhibits great strength and character as evidenced by her ability to play sports at a high level and maintain excellent grades while being active in school and in her community. Maddy carries herself with a maturity and poise well beyond her year.”
