Academic Scholarship Years:
Daughter of

Mallory Mickel is just completing the spring semester of her third year at the University of Florida.

What she has enjoyed most about her academic coursework has been the natural science electives, where she diversified her interests through exposure to professions that she would otherwise have no exposure to. She shares that these courses have helped her to become more aware and appreciative of the unique paths we all take in following our passions. Mallory’s focus is on learning, passing her classes, seeking clubs and volunteer opportunities, making time for health and hobbies, and discovering the right career track for her.

She credits this scholarship as contributing to her academic accomplishments, namely being named to the President’s Honor Roll in the Spring of 2020 for earning a 4.0 GPA, being named to the Dean’s List of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for maintaining at least a 3.75 GPA in Fall 2020 and earning a 4.0 GPA in both Spring and Fall 2021.

Outside of her academics, she participates in the Family Youth and Community Science club, volunteers as a tech at the Orthopedic Institute and joined the Undergraduate Pre-Physician’s Assistant Association. Upon graduation, Mallory’s goal is to earn her EMT license and work in the field to accrue hours toward Physician’s Assistant school. She one day plans to work as a Physician Assistant.

Mallory’s previous scholarships were made possible with support from
the Alan Patrick Sondej Memorial Scholarship Fund.
