The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) congratulates Steven Sasser of Goldsboro, North Carolina, the winner of the organization’s Custom Guitar Sweepstakes.

Sasser won the custom painted, one-of-a-kind Fender Stratocaster, featuring the NFFF logo in the recent contest, held to raise money to help the families of fallen firefighters.

Sasser, who joined the fire service as a volunteer with the Belfast Fire Department in 1971, is a retired lieutenant who served 30 years with the Goldsboro Fire Department. He says that he was thrilled with his prize. “I get chill bumps every time I look at the guitar, and that’s a lot!”

“I have seen what the NFFF has done over the years, and what a great resource it is to firefighters and their families. I wish more people knew about NFFF and all the special work that it does! We as firefighters need to support the NFFF so it can continue to provide comfort to the families and recognition to our heroes that have given it all,” Sasser continued.

A special thank you to Brian Brock, from BKB Art Studio in Kingsport, Tennessee, who is the artist that painted the guitar.
