Eric R. Ellis

After experiencing arm numbness while completing mandated physical training on May 15, 2020, Eric Ellis was hospitalized. He died on May 21, 2020, from cardiovascular causes.

Eric served as the base manager for the Salmon Heli-Rappellers from 2010 until his death.

Survived by his wife and two young sons, he was remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

  1. Eric was a good fire fighter and friend. We went through Boise BLM Smokejumper Rookie class together. Have a lot of good memories of our time together jumping fires for many years.

  2. I also was a Boise smoke jumper with Eric for many years. His passing seems so serial and helps remind me to treasure every day. Soft landings my friend.

  3. Eric, a few of us got to got to Gettysburg for training. We had some time to visit the memorial, we saw the brick and the plaque sir. We also got to see Mike, Monica, Lillian, Quin, and Steve Uptegrove. Rest easy kids we will see you soon. all of you have a place here on the Payette.
