On June 28, 1969, Firefighter Vincent Mezeivtch of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company #3, died during an explosion at construction shed fire. Also killed in the explosion was Firefighter Edward Palenchak. Mr. Mezeivtch was survived by his wife, Mary and two sons.
FF Mezeivtch: Rest in Peace. You have never been Forgotten. You are officially remembered for your dedication and ultimate sacrifice. You are a hero. I appreciate your service.
